Rains and Life - Random Poem

It was just another night,
to be followed by a day.
It all seemed so quiet,
no one  could dream of making hay.

The sky was overcast with a tinge of black,
moon was fading with stars at it's back,
Finishing up their chores people were dozing off,
into the slumber of this dark night,
Unaware of the surprise someone had set up,
to be  ready for tomorrow with all their might.

Feeling the heat that showed no respite,
they were  at the mercy of heavens with no one  to fight.
Surprising everyone  the heavens opened up and the water started to pour,
rain was here there and everywhere.

Struck with joy people rushed out,
seeing the water and their fortune's swerve.
The scent of rain was enticing,
the soil was so pure,
the sound of gushing water,
made heavens to open the door.

The mud was wet , the path slippery,
the dead olive grass came alive.
Young started to make merry,
while the elders wanted their lives to thrive.

The rush of water was such,
it made people go crazy.
Dancing in the rain were they,
as if walking on a pale daisy.

For it had rained after a year,
the people had everything to cheer.
Celebrating in this dark night,
waiting for the bright sunshine,
not being tired of the fun and joy,
careless about the job they had tomorrow at nine.
